Added integration with IsThereAnyDeal to the website
16/12/2024
Unlike my price comparison rivals, I'm still working on my website. Here's what I've been working on this past week:
Integration with IsThereAnyDeal to import the wishlist
Yes, something that people have been asking the GG.deals website for years, I've programmed in just 2 days, although the integration isn't perfect and I'll explain why. The import of the wishlists you have in IsThereAnyDeal must be done by manually copying the content of the JSON file that the website generates. I would have liked it to be automatic once you've specified your profile like I do with Steam or GOG, but the website doesn't allow it. Also, when importing your wishlists, I must verify the information using the game titles, so there will be games that won't be imported. As I repeat, it's not ideal but I hope it saves you time.
New stores added
In the last few days I've added the Allyouplay store and the Gold version of Green Man Gaming, I don't understand why this last store hasn't been added to IsThereAnyDeal or GG.deals, because technically it's simple and becoming Gold in Green Man Gaming is enough to buy a few games on sale.
Small tweaks to the interface
Without getting into multiversal fights with the graphical interface, I continue to tweak parts that I don't like or left pending, for example now you can check what games are in the Patreon store without having to be registered and also on the front page almost at the bottom a few days ago I incorporated a "progressive loading" of the latest games with historical lows that you have according to your filter, this gif explains it better.
What now?
Don't expect big changes until next year, I'll wait for the Steam Christmas sales to see how the server behaves with the massive data entry that these types of deals entail. I want to see how the email queue behaves and see if I can improve the update times with the coffee maker that I call my web server.
