Strange relationship between isthereanydeal and the player.land store

2/2/2026
With this post, I'm deviating from my usual topic and talking about a direct competitor, the website isthereanydeal, which is the leading comparison site for official stores and which, last week, made a worrying decision, to say the least. Let me explain.
Exactly one week ago today, they added the player.land store to their list of retailers. Tomas, the administrator of isthereanydeal, claims it's an official store, but I have my doubts about that, and several users on their Discord server have expressed the same concern.
Here are my concerns:
  • Player.land sells games that have been discontinued by their publishers, something an official store cannot do. For example, if you're a Fanatical, and SEGA comes to you tomorrow and tells you to remove Football Manager 26 because they're going to sell 27, you're obligated to do so even if you still have 10,000 keys available to sell for 26.
  • Several users on the isthereanydeal Discord server claim that player.land sells scanned keys, that is, keys from physical units. This is something no official store does, and it hasn't been clarified yet.
  • A representative from the player.land store confirms that the store buys keys, something that no official store ever does. Official stores pay developers per key purchased by a user, not before.
  • The same player.land store representative confirms that they don't buy game keys directly from EA and Ubisoft, but from an unnamed third party.
  • The player.land website is supposedly the digital division of digihry.sk, but I can't find any direct connection between the two. In fact, they aren't even hosted on the same server.
Personally, with these indications, I wouldn't remotely add that store to my website, unless I switch to the dark side of unofficial stores. Because I don't believe that Tomas, with all his years of experience in this field, doesn't see what I've just written.
