Website updates: 40 games added to Patreon and what a pain the bots are

This website updates post doesn't have much content, but I wanted to share some of the changes I've made.

First, I've added new categories to the email notifications, which are disabled by default. If you want to receive emails about website updates or game removals, go to your account and then to email notifications to enable the categories.

Second, I've been quietly working on a bot-proofed version of the website. The reason I'm telling you this is because I identify bots based on two possibilities: when they directly tell me they're a bot (via the useragent in the server request), or when someone starts hitting F5 like a demon (I hope I get this right). I am forced to do this for a 'good reason', which is the growing traffic of the website, in January I received about 850,000 bot requests but last July I have doubled the number of bot requests up to 1,700,000 and apart from that we have to add the visits from humans that I have also doubled. With the server I have, this is a real headache, and I'm sure if I had enough money, I'd expand the server because right now I can only dedicate a measly gigabyte of RAM to the website (the other gigabyte of RAM I pay for is spent looking for deals).

Third, you'll have seen on the homepage that I've introduced several new tabs right at the new all-time lows. I'm testing how the releases tabs (games released in the last 30 days) and coming soon tabs (games that already have a release date) work. This is too similar to Steam, to be honest, and I don't know if you'll like it, but I wanted to test it to see if I could get results similar to those of a giant like Steam. Also, I didn't want to do like gg.deals, allkeyshop, or isthereanydeal, whose homepages are truly chaotic, showing you 1,000 games that you don't even know why they're showing. Personally, I like clean and organized website homepages.

And finally, I've added 40 games to the Patreon store. I hope you like them, and if I convince anyone to support me on Patreon, it would really help me expand the server.
